Steps to Work (formerly known as The Pathways Project) is a vocational project, funded by the European Social Fund to promote assessment and structured guidance to people with a mental health diagnosis to gain access to:

  • education
  • training
  • voluntary work
  • work taster placements
  • paid part-time / full-time work
How can we help?

Our vocational worker, based in Southwick, will provide:

  • structured guidance and support on a one-to-one basis
  • group sessions such as work skills and personal development workshops
  • liaison with agencies offering education, training, voluntary work and paid work
Why was the project started?

Steps To Work encourages, guides and supports participation in a worthwhile, meaningful activity because:

  • any service users have skills that they could be using to their potential
  • vocation is important to them with such as increased confidence, sense of worth, social inclusion and networking and acquisition of new skills and experiences

This project is helping to meet these needs.

Who can apply?

If you:

  • are interested and motivated to participate and ready to engage in regular appointments
  • have a mental health diagnosis
  • are resident in the Adur or Chanctonbury districts
  • are aged 18 - 65
