Adur Furniture Network
Adur Furniture Network was established in May 1993 via a joint initiative between Adur District Council's Recycling Officer and Assistant Housing Director with the support of Shoreham Mental Health Association, and relies on the help of volunteers, some whom are members of the Corner House Resource Centre.
Aims of the AFN
To provide furniture to local people in need, for a normal fee.
To sell furniture in the AFN shop.
Money raised helps to fund the project:
- Telephone, heat, lighting
- Volunteer / Staff expenses
- Repairing / restoring furniture
To involve members of the Shoreham Mental Health Association.
Members can:
- Staff the shop
- Help with delivery/collections
- Repair/restore furniture
SDMHA provide the core of our volunteers, staffing the van and the shop
We aim to provide a way back into work activity for members of Shoreham & District Mental Health Association and others needing extra support in voluntary work.
